Azerbaijani parliament approves Novruz Mammadov’s candidacy as new PM - <span style="color: red;">UPDATED

During its plenary session held on April 21, Azerbaijani parliament approved the candidacy of Novruz Mammadov, assistant of the Azerbaijani president for foreign policy issues, head of department, as the country’s new prime minister.

Novruz Mammadov had been nominated for this post by President Ilham Aliyev.

During the discussion of Novruz Mammadov’s candidacy at the plenary session, Samad Seyidov, chairman of the parliament’s Committee on international and inter-parliamentary relations hailed his activity.

“Novruz Mammadov is the most reliable and modest official. He is an example for Azerbaijani officials,” Seyidov noted.

Siyavush Novruzov, MP, deputy executive secretary of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party (YAP) also highly appreciated the nomination of Novruz Mammadov for the post of the country’s prime minister. The MP called Mammadov an ideal candidate as a member of YAP’s Political Council.

In addition, MP Novruzov called on his colleagues to expresses gratitude to former prime minister Artur Rasizade.
