Prices in the housing market are not suitable for low-income families, reads a report for 2017 of Azerbaijan’s Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsperson), APA reports.
“However, the demand for a high salary by banks as a prerequisite for issuing mortgage loans does not correspond to the financial situation of poor families in need of housing. The main principle of the mortgage policy must be the utilization of these resources by more vulnerable layers of social protection,” says the annual report.
