Azerbaijani Constitutional Court confirms April 11 presidential election results - <span style="color: red;">UPDATED

The Constitutional Court of Azerbaijan has confirmed the results of the presidential election held in the country on April 11, APA reports.

Following a consultation, Constitutional Court Chairman Farhad Abdullayev announced that the election results have been confirmed.

Under the Constitutional Court decision to approve the protocol of the Central Election Commission, Ilham Aliyev is the winner of the presidential election in Azerbaijan with 86.02% votes.

A plenum of the Constitutional Court on the approval of the protocol of the Central Election Commission (CEC) on the results of the April 11 presidential election in Azerbaijan and the announcement of the election results has today kicked off, APA reports.

Delivering keynote remarks at the plenum, Chairman of the Constitutional Court Farhad Abdullayev introduced the court staff and secretary.

The court reporter gave information on the appointment of the date of the presidential election, the holding of the election and its results.

Under the requirements of the Electoral Code, CEC made a decision on April 15 to submit a protocol on the results of the election along with other relevant documents to the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
