Azerbaijan is considering amending rules related to mass media in the conditions of martial law.
Draft amendments to the law “On mass media” were tabled at today’s meeting of the parliamentary Committee on Culture, APA reports.
According to the amendments, military censorship can be imposed on media under the martial law, and special mode of operation of mass media shall be applied on the territory (territories) where martial law is declared.
In addition, the freedom of mass media shall be temporarily restricted by indicating the terms and conditions for the implementation of these terms during the period of martial law.
Draft amendments will be tabled at the upcoming plenary session of the parliament.
