Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has congratulated Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
“On my own behalf and on behalf of my people, I convey my most sincere congratulations to you on the occasion of your re-election as President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on April 11. I would like to emphasize my satisfaction with the successful completion of this election, which I believe is a crucial step in Azerbaijan’s further democratization,” Erdogan said in his congratulatory letter.
“I believe that during your presidency you will continue to make significant contributions to the prosperity and development of Azerbaijan and to strengthening of its international reputation,” Erdogan said. “Turkey-Azerbaijan relations, which stems from an ancient history and brotherhood between our peoples, have reached a high level under your leadership and through our joint efforts. I sincerely hope that Your Excellency will continue to make significant contributions in this direction in the years to come.”
