SCO: No law violations recorded at presidential election in Azerbaijan

The observation mission of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) has issued a statement on the presidential election held in Azerbaijan on April 11.

Members of the SCO observation mission congratulated the people of Azerbaijan on the successful outcome of the election.

"The voting was held quite freely; there was no pressure, no violation of the law and everything was within the legal framework,” said the statement.

It was noted that the representatives who visited 66 percent of the polling stations witnessed the result being celebrated allover the country.

"A great deal of people voted for their candidates. Everything was so well organized. People were interested to participate in the fair and free election. It is very important for people to be able to elect their leader. Elections are for people. A people achieve self-determination by voting for their candidates. We can conclude that a bright future awaits the Azerbaijani people is bright,” the statement said.
