The State Migration Service of Azerbaijan detained a Moroccan citizen and a citizen of Cameroon during the measures to combat illegal migration, the State Service told APA.
In addition, 8 citizens of Nepal were detained as a result of the measures taken jointly by the State Migration Service and the State Security Service.
The investigation revealed that the Moroccan and Nepalese citizens violated the rules of stay and residence in Azerbaijan.
Nepalese national Parajuli Sitaram fraudulently brought their compatriots to Azerbaijan, promising to find them high-paying jobs.
Azerbaijan’s State Migration Service deported Parajuli Sitaram for illegal actions he committed previously.
Moreover, the investigation revealed that Cameroonian citizen Lourile Teneng Meshi Christellen, detained for illegally residing in Azerbaijan, was a former student in the country.
Thus, the Cameroonian national was granted a temporary residence permit on an educational basis, although the permit expired he continued his stay in Azerbaijan.
The State Migration Service noted that it continues activities to combat illegal migration.
