Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev has signed an order on marking the 110th birth anniversary of academician Ahad Yagubov.
The Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences is due to work out and implement a plan of events on the 110th birth anniversary of academician Ahad Yagubov, APA reports.
May 2018 marks the 110th anniversary of the birth of prominent Azerbaijani scientist, USSR state laureate, doctor of geological-mineralogical sciences, professor, full member of the Azerbaijan Academy of Sciences Ahad Yagubov.
Yagubov, an author of valuable research on oil and gas geology and volcanology, was known as an organizer of a complex study of mud volcanoes in Azerbaijan. He led the formation of the first satellites and maps of Azerbaijan’s mud volcanoes. The discovery of many of the Caspian oil fields is attributed to the scientist.
