The amount of dust in the air exceeded the sanitary norm by 32 percent as of March 29 at 15:00 PM (UTC +4) in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula, according to the monitoring conducted by the National Monitoring Department on Environment, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources told APA.

In Baku and the Absheron Peninsula, the amount of dust in the air exceeded the sanitary norm by 25 percent as of March 29 at 12:00 PM (UTC +4), according to the monitoring conducted by the National Monitoring Department on Environment, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources told APA.

The monitoring conducted by the National Monitoring Department on Environment shows that the amount of dust in the air on the country’s territory will exceed the sanitary norm on March 29-30, the Azerbaijani Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry told APA.

The movement of dust is coming from the Arabian Peninsula, the ministry said.

The National Monitoring Department on Environment will conduct atmospheric monitor every three hours as dust-laden air blanked Baku and the Absheron Peninsula.

According to the monitoring results, on March 29 at 9:00 AM (UTC +4), the amount of dust in the air was over the sanitary norm by 20 percent in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula.
