Baku police have seized nearly 36 kg of drugs, including over 3 kg of heroin, over 6 kg of opium and over 26 kg of marijuana, over the past two days, the Interior Ministry’s press service told APA.
According to the ministry, opium and heroin were found on Khojasan resident Taleh Shukurov detained in a raid of the Binagadi District Police Department. After inspecting the person’s home, the police found additional over 2 kg of heroin, 6 kg of opium, and about 14 kg of marijuana.
Morover, Nasimi district police found Baku resident Ilham Hashimov, who is an ex-prisoner, carrying about 1 kg of heroin.
In another operation, Sabail district police found Ganja city resident Hasan Safarov, who also is an ex-prisoner, carrying more than 12 kg of marijuana.
The detainees and the material evidence collected have been submitted to investigators.
Criminal cases have been initiated against them and the investigative-search operations are continuing.
