The South Caucasus’s most ancient jewelry item has been exhibited at the Heydar Aliyev Center

Anar Alakbarov, director of the Heydar Aliyev Center, said that the Center holds significant events in various fields.

"We are trying to hold numerous international events here on a regular basis. Today's event is very important for us. Along with the importance of the presented exhibit, we are honored to be displaying such a historical exhibit at this Center,” he said.

Director of the ANAS Institute of Archeology and Ethnography Maisa Rahimova spoke about the jewelry, noting that the gold necklace is an elegant handmade item which was discovered during archaeological excavations near the village of Diza in the Sharur district of the Nakhchivan in 2008.

The exhibition entitled "The Pearls of Azerbaijan: through the History" at the Heydar Aliyev Center is aimed at promoting our culture, national-moral values and traditions and passing them on to future generations. The exhibits included more than 200 exhibits—Gobustan on-rock pictures dating back to the Mesolithic and Bronze ages, archeological findings dating back to the 3rd-1st millennia B.C., and 18th-19-th-century weapons, copper and jewelry pieces, national costumes, carpets, musical instruments, etc. Among these historical exhibits, visitors can also marvel at the oldest jewelry item in the South Caucasus.
