On 12 March, two persons aboard a boat (ÅžA-274) with a Yamaha-48 engine sought help from the Coast Guard of Azerbaijan’s State Border Service (SBS) after facing the risk of sinking in stormy weather.

The coordinates were promptly transmitted to a border guard ship in the south. As a result of the measures taken, the boat was reached about 10 km off the coast.

It was managed to rescue the two persons aboard the boat in the conditions of a heavy wind, which reached a speed of 23 meters per second, and three-meter waves.

Those who were rescued are the residents of Shahaghaji village of Astara district, Suleyman Hasanov and Aghsaf Hasanov.
