The relationship between Azerbaijan and Morocco has a strong basis, Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Nasser Bourita said on March 5.

“My visit to Azerbaijan has created a great opportunity for continuation of political consultations. We have a similar position regarding a number of issues. Our relationship has a strong basis. We coordinate our relations in regional and international levels,” Nasser Bourita told a joint press conference with his Azerbaijani counterpart in Baku on March 5, APA reports.

Bourita said that both countries have extensive experience in the development of modern Islam, the fight against terrorism and Islamophobia.

“We are leading in a number of areas within these processes. During the negotiations, we agreed that bilateral consultations should be continued. We want political relations to become as strong as economic ones. For this purpose, there should be a legal framework. Numerous agreements should also be signed in order to strengthen bilateral ties,” he noted.

The minister added that the relations with Azerbaijan are based on solidarity and mutual support.

“It also concerns the conflicts. Both Morocco and Azerbaijan have faced aggression, and this is a very important issue for both countries. Our relations are based on UN resolutions. Our position expressed loyalty to the protection of the territorial integrity,” Bourita said.
