Passenger plane makes emergency landing in Kyrgyzstan

A passenger plane made an emergency landing in Kyrgyzstan due to engine failure, the capital's Manas International Airport said on Thursday, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

"The plane flew from the Manas airport at 14:22 p.m. local time (0822GMT). After half an hour the pilots requested permission for an emergency landing due to the failure of the left engine," it said.

The aircraft made a safe landing, and none of the 96 passengers were injured, it added.

The RJ-85 plane operated by Tez Jet airline was heading to Kyrgyzstan's southern city of Batken.

The Civil Aviation Agency of the Kyrgyz Republic has formed a commission to study the causes of the incident.
