Last year, 1,540 religious books were examined on the basis of appeals received by Azerbaijan’s State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations, said Nahid Mammadov, a committee official.
He made the remarks on Tuesday at a meeting dedicated to the outcomes of 2017 and forthcoming tasks, the State Committee told APA.
Last year the State Committee prevented the import to the country of 63 books promoting religious intolerance, discrimination and radicalism, Mammadov added.
