Ninety-seven families have been evacuated from the landslide zone on the Bayil slope, Deputy Prime Minister Abid Sharifov told APA.

“Four houses were destroyed in the area, two more houses can fall down in two days,” he said.

He noted that the Cabinet of Minister first made a decision to evacuate the residents from the landslide zone.

“The Reserve Fund of the Cabinet of Ministers Fund allocated money to these residents for renting money. The decision of the Cabinet of Ministers saved 25 people who were living in the four destroyed houses,” the deputy PM said.

As for a final decision of the Cabinet of Ministers on houses in the landslide zone, Sharifov said that the work is underway in this regard.

“The landslide process continues gradually. Houses in the landslide zone are protected. At present, it is impossible to say anything about the demolition of 97 houses and the relocation of all residents. Relocation of the residents of 07 houses is not an easy task,” he added.
