Anti-corruption measures being taken in Azerbaijan are highly appreciated by international organizations, Orkhan Isayev, deputy head of the Anti-Corruption Department under Prosecutor General, told APA.

According to the Transparency International's (TI) recently-published 2017 Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI), Azerbaijan ranks 122nd with a score of 31 among 180 countries, said Isayev.

“I would like to note that there has been a positive dynamics in Azerbaijan’s indicators in this organization’s reports since 2009. However, the indicators of the 2017 index do not accurately reflect the measures taken in our country in the field of fighting corruption,” he said.

Isayev emphasized that anti-corruption measures in Azerbaijan are praised by very influential international organizations such as the Council of Europe's anti-corruption body (GRECO), the Anti-Corruption Network of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and relevant UN bodies.

“The progress made in the execution of recommendations given to Azerbaijan is reflected in a more accurate and more professional approach in these organizations' reports,” he added.
