The Baku Court of Appeal on Wednesday held a hearing on the appeal of Giyas Ibrahimov and his father Hasan Ibrahimov.
The appeal was rejected by the court, APA reports.
Earlier, term of Giyas Ibrahimov’s sentence was extended by 3 months, and his father was sentenced to 1.5 years of imprisonment and a penalty of 20 percent of his monthly earnings by a decision of the Yasamal district court. The appeal was filed against this decision.
The defendants faced an additional charged under Article 289.2 disrespect to court) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.
Giyas Ibrahimov had been jailed for 10 years by the verdict of the Baku Court of Grave Crimes.
He is charged under articles 234.4.1 (illegal production, purchase, storage, transportation, transfer or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their precursors by a group of persons previously at one or by an organized group) and 234.4.3 (the same acts when committed on a large scale) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.
