A lot has been achieved in the area of religion since Ilham Aliyev came to power, Chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Office (CMO) Haji Allahshukur Pashazade said during a meeting at the CMO on Wednesday, APA reported.
He noted that Muslims were troubled during the Soviet era and began to worship freely after independence, but it was not until Heydar Aliyev came to power again that Muslims began to unite.
"Today, it would displease Allah to be dissatisfied with the conditions created for believers in Azerbaijan. So we’re grateful. I urge the Muslims of this country to vote for Ilham Aliyev. You believers must utter the truth in mosques, during sermons. We will control it. This is our duty as a citizen,” he said.
