Azerbaijani State Migration Service detained 6 foreigners in recent measures to combat illegal migration.

They include two citizens of India, three citizens of Nepal and one citizen of Pakistan, the State Migration Service told APA.

The investigation revealed that Indian citizen Verma Dalip Kumar, who was passing training courses at the Western Caspian University in Baku, organized the arrival and accommodation of foreigners in Azerbaijan, through Mops Tour and Travel LLC established by his compatriot Jagmeet Singh. Verma Dalip Kumar also promised to provide foreigners with a permit for temporary residence in Azerbaijan.

Through this company, Nepalese citizens Kuldip Mahara, Mandal Santosh Kumar and Mandal Suraj Kumar contacted their coordinator in Azerbaijan Verma Dalip Kumar. In turn, Verma Dalip Kumar deceived the Nepalese citizens, promising to provide them with work in Azerbaijan. He initially took 2,500 US dollars from the Nepalese citizens.

Later on, Verma Dalip Kumar agreed with Pakistani citizen Ijaz Muhammad, a student at the Academy of Arts, to supervise the Nepalese citizens and provide them with food in exchange for a monthly fee of 200 manats.

As a result of the measures taken, the attempts of the mentioned individuals to bring Nepalese citizens to Azerbaijan and turning them into illegal migrants were prevented.

In addition, one Nigerian citizen Azeez Olalekan Kareem was detained for illegal residence in Azerbaijan. The Nigerian citizen was deported from Azerbaijan as he was a carrier of a dangerous infection disease.
