Azerbaijani SEC reveals results of admission examination to Collegium of Advocates

Azerbaijani State Examination Center (SEC) has revealed some statistical data on candidates who participated in the admission examination to the Collegium of Advocates held on Jan. 28, 2018, and their examination results, APA reported.

According to the SEC, 1966 candidates were registered to participate in the exam. Of them, 93 candidates did not attend the examination. Some 607 out of 1873 candidates earned 60 points and higher and passed to the second round – interview. 11.5% of the candidates are those who studied at foreign universities, and 88.5% are those who studied at local universities.

The number of applicants, who were admitted to the bachelor's degree only, or bachelor's or master's degrees, participating in admission exams held by SEC (former SSAC) in different years were 985. Some 455 (46%) of the candidates of this category earned 60 points and higher and passed to the second round – interview.

The number of applicants, who registered to participate in the exam, but did not participate in admission exams held by SEC (former SSAC) were 669. These candidates were mostly born in the 1950s/60s/70s or graduates of foreign higher education institutions. Some 105 (16%) of the candidates of this category successfully passed the exam.

There were also candidates, who participated in the SEC entrance exams for higher education institutions held on January 28 but did not pass. These candidates are mainly those who were, enrolled in universities by the higher education institution’s internal order in previous years, students who were transferred or studied abroad. Of the 312 candidates in this category only 47 (15%) passed the admission examination.

About half of the candidates participating in the entrance exams held by SEC to higher education institutions and 15% of the candidates in the other two categories passed the admission examination to the Collegium of Advocates.
