Andrzej Kasprzyk visits Tartar District Executive Authority

Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Ambassador Andrzej Kasprzyk visited the Tartar District Executive Authority on Feb. 6, APA’s Karabakh bureau reported.

Kasprzyk is on a visit to the region to monitor the contact line between Azerbaijani and Armenian troops.

Head of Tartar District Executive Power Mustagim Mammadov met with the OSCE representative and informed him about the difficulties faced by residents of settlements along the frontline.

Kasprzyk was informed that since the last monitoring on November 8, 2017, the Armenian army has 481 times violated the ceasefire with Azerbaijan. Villages, farmers have repeatedly been subjected to fire by Armenian soldiers from heavy artillery installations.

Mustagim Mammadov noted that the life of the civilians living in the line of contact is always in danger.

Kasprzyk went to monitor the line of contact after the meeting.

The OSCE is monitoring today the line of contact between Azerbaijani and Armenian troops.

The monitoring is held under the mandate of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Personal Representative along the line of contact near Azerbaijan’s Tartar district.

On the Azerbaijani side, the monitoring is held by Andrzej Kasprzyk, Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, and his field assistant Mikhail Olaru.

On the Azerbaijani territories occupied and controlled by Armenian armed forces, the monitoring is held by Ghenadie Petrica, Ognjen Jovic and Martin Schuster, who are field assistants of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Personal Representative.
