Azerbaijan’s acting minister of education Jeyhun Bayramov on Thursday met with a group of young teachers.
During the meeting the acting minister pointed out that purposeful measures have taken in recent years to increase teachers’ professionalism in the country, the Education Ministry’s press service told APA.
He said that about 6,000 teachers were hired last year as a result of transparency during the competition for employment of teachers.
“Today, 151,458 teachers work in general educational institutions in the country. Of them, 42,263 are young teachers aged under 35, which is 28 percent of the total number of teachers,” added Bayramov.
Young teachers also addressed the meeting, after which they were given gifts by the ministry’s leadership.
