Based on a 2016 report by World Organization for Animal Health in 2016, imports of live birds and poultry products from Iran to Azerbaijan have been temporarily restricted for fear of the bird flu disease recorded in Iran. At present, this restriction is in effect, Press Secretary of the State Veterinary Service under the Ministry of Agriculture Yolchu Khanvali told APA.

Khanvali said that the epizootic situation in the country due to "bird flu" and other infectious diseases is stable.

It should be noted that on November 23, 2016 an order was signed at the State Veterinary Service in connection with the spread of highly pathogenic bird flu among breed birds in Iran.

"Bird flu" has been recorded in Iran’s 16 provinces.
