A geophysical exploration is currently being conducted on Bayil slope in Baku, and the causes of the landslide process is being studies, Aziz Qaralov, head of the geological planning expedition of the National Geological Exploration Service of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, told APA.

He noted that a geological basis is being developed for the work to be carried out in the area by the relevant bodies.

According to Qaralov, cracks appeared on the horizontal beacons installed in the landslide-affected area, and land subsidence is occurring there.

The expedition head added that work is underway to determine the depth of the process, using electrical geophysical prospecting methods.

The landslide-affected area is located 200-250 meters southeast of the Baku TV Tower. The cause of the landslide was atmospheric precipitation and vertical cutting of the slope during the construction work. The width of the cracks in the landslide zone reaches 1 meter, the depth is 7 meters
