Azerbaijan’s Minister of Emergency Situations, Colonel General Kamaladdin Heydarov on Friday visited the landslide-affected area on Bayil slope, near the Baku TV Tower.

Minister Heydarov inspected the area and gave the necessary instructions for urgent action to be taken, the ministry told APA.

The landslide zone is located 200-250 meters southeast of the Baku TV Tower. The cause of the landslide was atmospheric precipitation and vertical cutting of the slope during the construction work. The width of the cracks in the landslide zone reaches 1 meter, the depth is 7 meters

A special headquarters has been created at Baku’s Sabail district executive authority. Sixty-seven houses in the area are at risk. Eighty households (390 people) have been relocated, including 34 IDP families.
