Bus fire in Kazakhstan: Short circuit a preliminary cause of fire

Short circuit of wire is reported to be a preliminary cause of fire in the passenger bus that killed 52 people in Kazakhstan's Aktobe region on January 18, AKIpress reported.

The accident occurred on January 18 morning on the Samara-Shymkent road.

55 passengers and 2 drivers were inside the bus and only 5 people managed to flee the fire. There were 55 citizens of Uzbekistan and 2 citizens of Kazakhstan in the bus.

All the victims were reportedly from Uzbekistan, Kazakh authorities said.

5 people who survived the deadliest bus accident in Kazakhstan were taken to the hospital with burns in parts of their bodies.
