Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) has sent a letter to banks and post-offices, sources from banks told APA-Economics.

The letter says that according to the article #4.1.1 of “The list of goods and items whose shipping in mail is prohibited ” approved by Decision #191 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated December 9, 2004, shipping of coins and banknotes in mail is prohibited.

‘Therefore, the currency unit sent to Central Bank of Azerbaijan for examination should be presented via collector after having been registered as suspicious money in web-portal module of Cash Management Information System’, the letter says.

CBA said that from February 1, 2018, the currency units sent to Central Bank for expertise without registration in the web-portal won’t be accepted by the Central Bank.
