One of missing Azerbaijani climbers is employee of Interior Ministry’s press service

One of the three members of the Gilavar Air & Extreme Sports Club, who went missing in Azerbaijan’s Guba district on Dec. 23, is an employee of the Interior Ministry’s press service, APA has learned.

Police lieutenant Babur Huseynov is said to have been engaged in mountaineering before being hired to the Interior Ministry. On weekends, Huseynov, together with two fellow mountaineers, went to Guba district. The climbers went missing in the mountains, where there were unfavorable weather conditions.

Forces of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Border Service, Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources and other relevant state agencies are continuing the search for the missing climbers.

The Interior Ministry’s press service confirmed the information to APA.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations earlier reported that members of the Gilavar Air & Extreme Sports Club, Babur Huseynov, Namin Bunyatzade, Farida Jabrayilzade, who set out from the village of Khinalig to Tufandag on Dec. 23 did not return and connection with them was interrupted. The information was transferred to relevant agencies. An air squad of the MES initiated a search operation.
