Iran will send off its first train via Gazvin-Rasht railway by the end of winter, Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development, Director General of Construction & Development of Transportation Infrastructures Company Kheirullah Khadim told APA’s Iran correspondent.
Khadim noted that Iran intends to complete the Gazvin-Rasht railway project by the end of winter: ‘We plan to send off first train within three months. In order to improve North-South corridor, Rasht-Astara railway project has been commenced. Currently, works on stops and detraining points in Iran’s Astara are underway’.
According to Azerbaijan-Iran agreement, within the North-South international corridor project, Astara (Azerbaijan)-Astara (Iran) is going to be launched on December 25.
