Trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Czech Republic increased by 100% compared to 2016, trade envoy of Czech embassy in Azerbaijan Jan Jindřich said.
According to him, the trade turnover between the countries made up $920 million in January-October 2017. Import from Czech Republic to Azerbaijan amounted to $78 million.
He noted that this is related to development in the economies of the both countries: ‘This is also related to that Czech Republic usually imports oil from Azerbaijan. In 2016 one of oil refineries in Czech Republic was closed for four months and this affected the figures. Azerbaijani oil meets 1/3 of our need. Therefore, Azerbaijan plays a great role in energy security of Czech Republic’.
