Kamaladdin Heydarov: 1,442 people, including 423 children rendered first aid in emergencies this year

Since the beginning of 2017, more than 38,000 inspections have been carried out to control fire safety at social, industrial, transport and agricultural facilities in Azerbaijan, said Minister of Emergency Situations, Colonel General Kamaladdin Heydarov.

He made the remarks on Thursday at a meeting dedicated to the 12th anniversary of the establishment of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES), APA reported.

The minister said that the owners of these facilities were given instructions to eliminate the detected deficiencies. “Above 60,000 workers and servants were instructed on the rules of fire safety,” he added.

Heydarov noted that during the reporting period MES rescuers joined 1,138 search and rescue operations, including road accidents, search and disposal of ammunition, gas leakage in apartments and prevention of dangerous biological events.

“During the elimination of emergencies and accidents, 1,442 people, including 423 children were rendered first aid. Rescuers of the State Fire Protection Service took part in eliminating the consequences of 43 road accidents, as a result of which 79 people were removed from deformed vehicles,” added the minister.
