Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday that the position of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict does not coincide with Russia’s, APA reported citing Russia Today.

"We know Turkey’s position, which currently does not overlap with ours. Russia's position on Jerusalem and the Middle East is very well known," Peskov said.

Earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called for recognizing Jerusalem as the occupied capital of Palestine. He also called Israel a "terrorist state".

At today’s extraordinary OIC summit in Instanbul, Erdogan urged world states to recognize East Jerusalem as Palestine’s occupied capital and called Israel a “terrorist state.”
