Azerbaijani businessman sells Cherkizovo at $2B

Azerbaijani businessman Igor Babayev may sell his share (89.5%) in Cherkizovo group of companies, APA-Economics reports quoting Kommersant newspaper.

The businessman is negotiating with Thailand’s ‘CP Foods’ company and Vadim Moshkovich‘s Rusagro.

Cherkizovo spokesperson denied the information.

CP Foods did not want to comment on the negotiations, but said that they are interested in establishment of vertical integration.

Rusagro also refused to comment.

Kommersant’s sources claim that the Cherkizovo owners estimate the group at $2 billion.
