The principles of dividing the water surface of the Caspian littoral states will be agreed upon and adopted by a separate agreement, said Azerbaijan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov, APA reported.
He noted that the coordinated draft convention entails a principle for division of the Caspian’s water surface.
“State sovereignty does not apply to the 15-mile zone of sovereignty. The states’ territories extend [to the sea] up to 15 miles [along the coast]. Ten miles farther from the 15-mile strip lie the fishing zone, beyond which the waters will be in common use,” added Khalafov.
