Since the beginning of 2017, 250,000 foreigners have visited Azerbaijan using the "ASAN visa" system, said President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
President Aliyev made the remarks addressing the opening of the ASAN Həyat complex of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Guba.
‘The main barrier to touristic visits was the visa system. I had repeatedly given instructions to the relevant state bodies so that serious reforms must be carried out in visa system. However, the reforms were incomplete. ASAN was entrusted with this task. Today, I was informed that 250,000 foreigners have come to Azerbaijan using "ASAN visa" this year. There were problems in utility services. ASAN Kommunal is now operating effectively. Development of small and family business is of great importance for the economy of the country. Therefore, ABAD centres are being established in Azerbaijan to support this field’, he said.
