The draft Convention on the status of the Caspian Sea reflects the principle of countries not disturbing one another’s security, Azerbaijan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov told reporters on Wednesday, APA reported.
“There are going to be agreements in this regard. Currently, we’re trying to agree on a joint action on the elimination of incidents,” said Khalafov.
The deputy FM said that the Caspian Sea is a water basin of the five countries with rights and jurisdiction.
He noted that the draft convention also included the preservation of military balance.
"Security and stability should be addressed by these countries. In case any state increases its military power, it should maintain the balance," added Khalafov.
