Two Azerbaijani citizens detained in Georgia

Two Azerbaijani citizens, who were members of a criminal group, were detained in Broliskedi village of Georgia’s Terjola district, APA’s local bureau reported citing Georgian Foreign Ministry.

During the investigation, it was revealed that a criminal group of 5 people, including the detainees, committed an armed attack on two citizens who were heading to Batumi from Tbilisi on Dec.1.

The criminals took $140 thousand, mobile phones and personal belongings from them, after which fled the scene.

The employees of the Georgian Foreign Ministry managed to detain the criminals. The police confiscated a part of the stolen money. The identity of all members of the criminal group has already been established. Measures are being taken to detain the remaining members of the group, who are Georgian citizens.

A criminal case has been initiated. The detainees are expected to be sentenced to 8-12 of imprisonment.
