An opening ceremony for Costa Rica’s Embassy in Baku took place on November 29.
The opening ceremony was attended by Costa Rica’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Worship Manuel González Sanz, Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Nadir Huseynov as well as representatives of diplomatic corps functioning in Azerbaijan, APA reported.
After the opening of the embassy, Manuel González Sanz told reporters that this is his third visit to Azerbaijan as a minister.
“I’m very glad to be back in Baku. Today is a very important day for my country. Our embassy was opened in Baku, which is an excellent manifestation of our friendship,” he said.
The minister also touched upon the appointment of Costa Rica’s ambassador to Azerbaijan.
“We are waiting for this moment. I hope that the appointment of an ambassador will take place next year,” added González Sanz.
