Georgia, in conjunction with foreign countries, is planning to implement a joint project on production of electric cars, APA’s local bureau reports.

The cost of the project is estimated at $5 million.

A relevant memorandum has already been signed with Chinese and German companies on establishment of joint production ventures near the city of Rustavi. The feasibility study of the project is being worked out at the present. First electric cars are expected to be produced in 1.5 years.

The electric cars will be designed for local, regional and European markets.
