The state should provide serious support for treatment of children with autism in Azerbaijan, MP Hikmat Babaoghlu said addressing a discussion of the 2018 state budget package at the parliament on Tuesday, APA reports.

“Recently, autism has become widespread. If we think about a healthy future, it’s necessary to create centers to solve this problem, and the state should serious provide serious support for treatment and rehabilitation of autistic children. This requires sufficient funds,” he said.

Underlining the importance of inclusive education, MP Babaoghlu touched upon the issue of providing free education to students whose parents are disabled.

“The students with parents with groups I or II disability can be exempt from education fee not only at the expense of the state budget. It can be done by universities as well,” he added.
