The United States has appointed a new OSCE Minsk Group co-chair who is looking at the process with new eyes, said U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan Robert Cekuta.

The ambassador was commenting on reports that the U.S. is allegedly planning to withdraw from Minsk Group chairmanship and on the possibility of a change of the Minsk Group’s format, APA reported.

“There are certain speculations that I’m not going to comment on. The U.S. has been, is, and is continuing to be an active co-chair of the Minsk Group,” noted Cekuta.

The U.S. will continue to be active in this issue, said the ambassador, adding. “Our co-chair participates in the negotiations. We are focused on this. We continue to remain an active co-chair.”
