Kamaladdin Heydarov: No human causalities recorded during disasters since MES creation

If an effective struggle against inevitable global threats, such as natural and man-made disasters is possible, Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) is ready to join all initiatives in this area, said Minister of Emergency Situations, Colonel General Kamaladdin Heydarov.

The minister made the remarks at a meeting held in Baku on Friday in connection with the international complex exercise “Caspian 2017”, APA reported.

“The pieces of equipment demonstrated at today’s exercise were bought thanks to the attention and care of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and handed over to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, which was established just 11 years ago. During this time, no human causalities were recorded during natural disasters,” said the minister, adding. “Right, houses were destroyed and areas were flooded in the country as a result of disasters, but thanks to all this equipment, and the knowledge and abilities of the personnel of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, there has been no human loss.”
