Russian non-commercial organizations should promote the idea of ​​Eurasian integration in the CIS, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Friday.

Lavrov made the remarks at a meeting of the Council of Heads of Subjects of the Russian Federation under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, APA’s Moscow correspondent reported.

The foreign minister suggested opening branches abroad of some non-profit organizations in Russia.

"I think our common goal is to expand the presence overseas presence of local regional organizations, branches of major Russian non-profit organizations, such as the World Russian People's Council. One of our efforts is to promote the idea of ​​Eurasian Integration in the CIS,” said Lavrov. “I believe it is important to work more closely with the neighboring countries, the CIS and the Eurasian Economic Union countries. As is known, dialogue through non-profit organizations is an important issue in terms of strengthening our relations.”
