Turkey's ambassador to Azerbaijan Erkan Ozoral told the official website of Baku Shopping Festival that Azerbaijan made successful steps towards the development of the non-oil sector and diversifying of the economy in recent years.
Talking about the development of tourism potential of the country, diplomat noted that the increasing number of the tourists visiting Azerbaijan is the proof of these steps. According to the diplomat, Baku Shopping Festival is an important way to further introduction of the country. Price policy applied during the festival also contributes to the growth of sales and more income to the country's economy.
"The second Baku Shopping Festival in the short run shows that the first festival has reached its goal," the ambassador said. “Turkey will continue its support to the development of tourism in Azerbaijan, I am sure that Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line, which will be opened soon by the heads of our states including the president of Turkey Rejep Tayyip Erdogan, will also make a significant contribution to the further development of tourism in the region," he added.
