Azerbaijan is increasing the amount meant for the resolution of problems of refugees and IDPs, according to the 2018 draft state budget.
Next year’s draft state budget envisages allocation of 245 million manats (26% more compared to last year’s) for social protection of refugees and IDPs through the State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and IDPs, as well as repairing 850 buildings occupied by IDPs, covering expenses of electricity, water supply and sewage, natural gas and thermal energy, and funding their allowances. 4.9 million manats will be expended on social provision projects.
50.5 million manats will be allocated from next year’s state budget for the application of consumer norms and limits for internally displaced persons residing in areas not provided with natural gas where it is not possible to individually establish and technically operate meters for determining a single allowance for the payment of public services for refugees and internally displaced persons.
