Education expenditure in Azerbaijan’s draft state budget 2018 exceeds AZN 2 bln

Azerbaijan’s 2018 state budget envisages allocation of 2,001.5 million manats for education expenditure, which is 210,3 million manats or 11.2 per cent more compared to 2017, and 247.1 million manats or 14.1 per cent more compared to 2016.


This is according to the drafts state and consolidated budget for 2018, APA reported.


According to the document, 1082.1 million manats or 54.1 per cent of the funds allocated for education expenditure will be directed to financing of general education expenses, 628.3 million manats or 31.4 per cent to financing of other educational institutions and activities (expenses in connection with the financing of higher education under the state order and financial support of a number of state programs and measures, etc.), 175.3 million manats or 8.7 per cent to financing of pre-school tuition expenses, 41.3 million manats or 2.1 per cent to financing of secondary special education expenses, 42.7 million manats or 2.1 per cent to financing of high education expenses (Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, ADA University, Baku branch of the Moscow State University named after Lomonosov, Baku branch of First Moscow State Medical University named after Sechenov, Baku Choreography Academy, and expenses related to financing of the activity of the Justice Academy and other educational institutions), 28.0 million manats or 1.4 per cent to financing of primary vocational education, and 3.7 million manats or 0.2 per cent to financing of additional education.
