Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) and the Ministry of Education have issued a joint statement regarding the textbook “General History” for 10th grade.
“The statement made by the Scientific Council of the Institute of History with regard to the publishing of a map of so-called “Greater Armenia” in the Russian version of the textbook “General History” for 10th grade is interpreted by media as the position of ANAS. This leads to wrong conclusions and contradicts the basic principles of the media,” said the statement.
“We state that the statement by the Institute of History, which is the structural subdivision of ANAS, does not reflect the position of ANAS. The press services of ANAS and the Ministry of Education call on the media to be unbiased in this issue and to approach news headlines attentively,” the statement said.
