Plenary session of Scientific and Advisory Council under CIS ATC kicks off in Baku - <span style="color: red;">UPDATED

The 7th regional expert consultation of representatives of law enforcement authorities, special services agencies of CIS countries and an expanded plenary session of the Scientific and Advisory Council under the CIS Anti-Terrorism Center (ATC) kicked off in Baku on Oct. 5, APA reported.

Representatives of the Azerbaijani State Security Service, Internal Affairs Ministry and Justice Ministry are taking part in the plenary session.

In addition, for the first time, representatives of monitoring group of the UN Security Council on issues related to ISIS, Al-Qaida and Taliban terrorist organizations were invited to the meeting.

Deputy Head of the State Security Service of Azerbaijan Ismayil Baghirov conveyed to the participants the greetings of State Security Head Madat Guliyev and wished them success.

Deputy Director of the CIS Anti-Terrorism Center Marat Abdiyev expressed gratitude to the leadership of the State Security Service for organizing the 7th consultation. He said that the meeting is held on an annual basis.

This year’s meeting will mainly focus on the fight against international extremist organizations’ involvement of CIS countries’ citizens in remote cooperation.
