Fifths customs checkpoint opens on Georgian-Armenian border

A new customs checkpoint, named Bavra, was inaugurated on the Georgian-Armenian border.

The construction of the new checkpoint that covers an area of 11 hectares was financed the European Union and European Investment, APA’s Georgia bureau reported.

A Georgian delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister, Finance Minister Dmitry Kumsishvili attended the opening ceremony. Deputy Chairman of the Georgia’s Revenue Service Vakhtang Lashkaradze said that the new customs checkpoint is very important for strengthening the country’s transit status.

Thus, the number of the customs checkpoints in the Georgian-Armenian border reached five.
